Former prime minister Ehud Olmert criticized Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's handling of current disagreements with the United States, regarding the deal the US negotiated with Iran over its nuclear weapons program.
"We've declared war on the United States administration, Olmert said at a special debate at the Institute for National Security Studies on Sunday.
"First and foremost, said Olmert, we must steer clear of anything that might give the impression that we want to lock horns with our biggest ally."
Disagreements with the US must never be handled in a way that might give the impression, G-d forbid... of a provocative tone of personal confrontation with the man whose goodwill and support for the state of Israel are perhaps the most important basis for the state of Israel's strategic interest.
"There is one state in the world that votes for Israel in the UN throughout the years, systematically, even in cases when we were not necessarily 100% right. They always stood at our side. All of these attacks, all the attempts to sic Congress against the American administration this is a very serious mistake. The only way is to cooperate with the US, modestly, with restraint, with wisdom, and not carry out the argument in unceasing attacks on the Amercian administration.

bribes.
Don’t worry Olmert, we’re at war with the President, too! You might as well join us.
What a drama queen!
I can’t stand Olmert or Perez. They are both a couple of snakes about as low as Obama.
I think someone put it best the other day when they said the whole purpose of this “deal” wasn’t to put Iran in a box, but to put Israel in a box. Netanyahu is smart to consider the Obastard Regime the enemy.
Obvious this boy didn't get the memo. 47% of the voters in this country hate Israel and wants it to go away. Just ask Barry and his 'RATS. They'll tell you.
True that!
This man is a disgrace, convicted not just impeached.
Why is anyone listening to him. He wanted to give away Jerusalem and he was part of a government and leader of a party that made Israel’s security weaker. I am referring to giving the Gaza away without any security arrangements. Endangering Israel, with missile and rocket launchers.
Israel has him to thank for the several necessary invasions of Gaza to stop the violence, at the cost of Israeli lives.
If you want to see what a Palistinian Arab state would mean for Israel’s security, just look at the Gaza experience where land for peace was just appeasement and wishful thinking.
The President is not America. America is not its President. Governments are not the country that they govern, just the trustees of the country’s interest. See Begin: Revolt!, Chapter entitled Never A Civil War (Milchemet Achim Leolam Lo; not sure of the translation in English edition) for an elaboration on the distinction.
He’s showing his face. His husband should chastise him with a stick the thickness of his thumb.
Then there was the invasion itself. Let’s see. Ghaza is a long, skinny strip of coastline. Let’s invade it from the North and plow on down the coast. That way Hamas will have time to put its guns in civilian areas, and it will take weeks to do what should have taken hours. A flank maneuver from the southern dessert and an amphibious landing? Nah. How would Hamas get supplies from the smuggling tunnels, then? Brilliant strategy./s
If he thinks Obama is Israel’s ‘ally’ then he’s in for a rude awakening.
Key phrase: "throughout the years."
Canada has taken over the leading position of Advocate for Israel.
Spell it ‘a lie’ and you have the truth.
Nice catch.
