There’s another issue which concerns me, which I’ll try to express here.
That concern is that, considering Travyon Martin/George Zimmerman, or incidents such as the fake Duke lacrosse rape case, I would be afraid of a physical altercation or fight with a minority person, because I would be afraid that somehow I would be blamed for it.
It’s the reverse of how things were in the old South, when those who were then called Negroes would be afraid of getting in trouble with a white person, due to fears that the Negro person would be the one who gets prosecuted, or has other legal problems due to the incident. Nowadays, I would be concerned that the white person in an interracial incident is going to be blamed somehow.
I know it’s odd to respond to my own post, but just wanted to add, that my fears would be escalated in areas of big black populations, in which the cops would be black. I would fear that black law enforcement, given the social/legal climate today, would have that presumption that somehow I was racist, and that justice would not be served if I got in an altercation with a black knockout game thug.
You’re (unfortunately) 100% right; that’s why I ignore certain places because if I never go to them, your scenario can never unfold. OTOH, if the harm seeks you out, well, then it’s survival mode. Call me a racist; can’t say it’s not an accurate statement.
The best way to stay out of trouble is to avoid it - think Titanic and iceberg. If you purposely route yourself (and family and friends) to stay out of harms way as much as you can, you mitigate the amount of harm you put yourself in.
