Look out, ladies. The war on conservative women has turned from ugly and vicious to downright disgusting.
MSNBC this week canceled Alec Baldwins little-watched talk show, Up Late, after the rage-aholic diva hurled anti-gay slurs csucking f-g at a Post photographer. Good riddance.
But as much as I hate to admit it, The Bloviator was right to whine that hes the victim of a double-standard. Because the same network that gallantly stood up for homosexuals by canning Alecs sorry behind has issued nothing but hugs to its despicable host Martin Bashir who verbally mutilated Sarah Palin.
On Nov. 15, Bashir lobbed a rant so vile at the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice-presidential nominee, it makes me ill even to think about it.
The British talker fantasized on air about having someone defecate and urinate in Palins mouth.
But if you thought this sick eruption would get Bashir fired, suspended, or banned from the best tables at Nobu, think again. An MSNBC rep said the Comcast-owned network, part of NBC, would handle the matter internally. Which is one way of timidly asking Bashir, Would you prefer red or white wine with your meal?(continued)

Politics makes for strange bedfellows.
If Bashir wants to make his apology count for something, he needs to resign.
Although Baldwin’s politics repulse me, he got a raw deal here. My Schadenfreude is strong, but he shouldn’t have been fired for this.
Bashir only succeeded in showing that he himself is the hateful bigot. But then, MSNBC is chock full of them.
A wise Frenchman once said (Voltair): “I dislike everything you say and stand for—but I will fight to the death for your right to say it in public.” I dislike baldwin but he has a right to his opinion.
Speaking of Voltaire....It’s said that his priest asked him, when he was near death, “Do you renounce Satan and his works?” To which Voltaire is said to have replied, “This is no time to make a new enemy.”
That said, it bothers me to hear Bashir's obscenities criticized as sexist, at least without more proof. His rant was not, per se, sexist. It just happened to be directed at a woman. I'm sure he would love to see the exact same treatment that he proposed for Sarah Palin be applied to Rush Limbaugh or the typical male Freeper. He loathes conservatives, not women.
Those who complain that Bashir's anti-Palin rant was sexist are just as ridiculous as those who complain that strong criticism of Obama is racist.
Ann Richards, a very liberal woman, was election as governor of Texas in part because her conservative opponent made some discourteous —and ridiculous—remarks about her during he campaign. Texas—male-voters were repelled by the remarks. When George Bush ran against her, he was careful to be nothing but courteous—and won. This is how far down the pike we have come, that this ugly little man can get away with this sort of thing.
Well, he especially loathes conservative women.
More than conservative men? More than conservative blacks? Can you name any liberal women he hates because they are women?
Maybe I am looking at this the wrong way. Maybe using this sort of group identity politics is the correct way to appeal to the all-powerful low information voter. The "Republican war on women" was entirely fictional, but it seems to have been believed by many voters.
I certainly hope that no one takes my post above as a defense of Bashir. His words were as vile as vile gets, a new low in talking head discourse.
Why wouldn’t he hate conservative women worse? Modern liberalism is founded on feminism, and the sexual ideology behind it, and any woman who departs from this ideology is to be scorned more than any black man.
I try to avoid television and usually succeed, but sometimes I find myself forced to listen to Bashir and his ilk. The MSM news and commentary was biased back in the Walter Cronkite era, but there was still a sense of shared humanity between the left and right. I think that most Americans still want that. The rabid hyper-leftist partisanship of the Martin Bashirs is turning off viewers/listeners.
Audience is small and dropping. Ignore them.
Maybe he does, but any news piece that accuses Bashir of sexism should cite statitics showing a clear pattern of gender bias in his commentary. One or two examples don't prove anything. Rush Limbaugh is not a sexist just because he accused Sandra Fluke of being a slut.
I think the difference was that Baldwin said what he did on his own time, filmed by the paparazzi.
Martin Bashir, on the other hand, got made up and sat in front of MSNBC’s cameramen who, with the blessings of MSNBC, said what he did. It was on camera, not in private, apparently with full consent of NBC.
NEVER forget that MS stands for MICROSOFT...BILL GATES and MELINDA GATES COULD HAVE HIM FIRED, but they have turned VILE themselves. NBC was always VILE.
By “turned” you assume there was a time when they weren’t evil, yes?
Yeah, I guess I did......but now they are both so steeped in ABORTION that I see them as VILE and EVIL.
