This is British, a place with a nominally elected government except for the monarch who generally obeys the government he or she gets.

British citizens were slack about having a say here. It will blow back on them, sure as night follows day.

The beast can only have whatever authority people allow. They can invest themselves in God or in Satan.

That all said, there is more than one way for a Christian to skin the polecat here. If wise, they could have used the opportunity to preach gospel to the sinning pair. So many Christians are afraid that the world might pollute them that they will not bother to “pollute” the world.

Inasmuch as the people could have had a voice and didn’t use it, Scot, they are responsible. God will forgive. But God won’t excuse. If they don’t learn from this experience then they will learn from worse experiences.

Finally, I would point out that Britain, for all its faults, is still a fine country, the British a fine people, and you should come over. We would, I would, welcome you.

My wife is in England now and will be staying there until sometime in early 2014. If I didn't think it was safe and welcoming she wouldn't be there.

Not so. You are blaming the wrong people. The UK judiciary is utterly independent but they can only rule according to the laws as laid down by Parliament. In other words, it is parliament that has decided that Gay rights trump the rights of everyone else. That has happened because a) the gay movement is extremely well funded, vociferous and very well organised and b) we have let it happen. All it takes is for our side not to do anything.

“This happened in the UK, not the USA.”

Come on! This is Free Republic!

Nobody reads the articles anymore.

They read the headline, form their own story in their head and then post comments about it.

Get with the program!

I will take your word for it; I am admittedly ignorant of the laws of the UK.

Of course, our Supreme Court is ALSO supposed to follow the laws and not re-write legislation...but that isn’t what happens. :(
