After having banned concealed carry in all of their stadiums, and even ordering women to give up their purse in favor of see-through plastic bags, (dont ya feel safer now?) the NFL has accelerated its war on gun ownership and the Second Amendment by trampling on the First Amendment. The League has refused to air a commercial for Daniel Defense in the 2014 Super Bowl on grounds that the weapons manufacturer violates the NFL regulations for prohibited advertising categories. Their rejection, however, appears rooted in political activism, rather than strict adherence to long standing advertising rules.

LOL! Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. No condemnation from me. For me, I don’t attend ANY major national sport events. Mostly because I don’t like huge crowds. It’s not worth it to me to go through the aggravation. Smaller venue concerts I can deal with. Stadium type shows, not so much. Some performers, not at all. Ever.
This thread was freaking MADE FOR RUSH LIMBAUGH.
Chance he won’t talk about this today: ZERO
Our liberal society is turning the NFL into a bunch of Kitties. This helmet contact thingy is bull crap.
Maybe I should give Snerdly a heads up to get Rush on board. LOL!
I’m glad I’m not the only one. After 14 or so, sports pretty much lost all meaning to me.
No high hits, no kickoff, no using bad words, no bullying...
The interesting thing is that b*tchification goes verrry neatly along with GANGIFICATION. Yeah, they’re side by side.
That’s true of the prez, too —the guy who boasts of “being good at killing people” also walks rather gracefully on the beach with his bodyman and caters to gay causes.
I haven’t been to an nfl game in years. Drunk obnoxious fans being truly poor sports, high prices, no thanks. If the nfl continues down this anti 2nd path I’ll give them up completely. It is already the only sport I watch on tv, probably wouldn’t miss it.
Pro sports in America is the opiate of the masses. Similar to how the Romans had their coliseums to keep people in line and doing the will of the govt, we have pro sports to keep people occupied and propagandized.
Dolphins’ 72-73 championship seasons, when I lived down there, were the last for me. Don & Dorothy Shula were family friends from Colts years, so I was pretty much obligated. Since then, zero sports.
When there are no fathers you get a feminized atmosphere —that’s the b*tchification part. But then there is still something missing and so when residual parts of the Father Need do present, then they come in the form of a CARICATURE of manly behavior —torturing dogs, impregnating women then abandoning them, beating up others, dealing drugs...
No fathers = feminization + stupid gang stuff
I watched the Raiders/Cowflies game yesterday.
The halftime show was atrocious.
The Salvation Army was featured which is fine, but they had a bunch of slutty looking dancers along with a slutty looking Selena Gomez on a stage which had a giant SA logo on it.
That bothered me.
Yup. Football fans that still watch don’t care enough about the fruity self congratulatory gyrating and chest pounding or rampant HGH use/lack of testing to stop watching so far. At least in my observation.
The more glitzy and slick the production of the NFL gets, the more people tune in, at least so far. I mean pre-season football talk radio in July might be the most boring thing ever, but someone must dig it because it is played all over.
Freegards
I think alocohol has killed more people than guns - but they are not a restricted catagory?
Since the ownership started extorting incredible demands from the communities for palaces to make their fortunes and the outrageous amount they paid for some of the sleaziest (michael vick and many many others), I stopped watching NFL in the late 80’s. I never missed at Texas Stadium until 89. The treatment of Tom Landry was more than I could stand from elites who despised the fans they depended on.
Reminds me of the Republican party.
I went to one Seahawks game. The crowd was totally obnoxious and while I love football I won’t be returning any time soon to see a game live. I was in the Hawk’s Nest part of the stadium, which I guess is known for rowdy fans. But it was way over the top with one fellow wanting to start a fight with the Green Bay fan a row behind me and another using utterly fowl language at the top of his lungs on every play, despite the presence of a 10 year old girl a row away.
It was not fun, and I won’t be shelling out my hard earned money to attend again. OTOH: I do enjoy the game on television.
Add this to this the constant ads aimed at impotent, beer-guzzling males, deviant half-time shows, Costas’ commentary, boring games, etc. Reaching my limit.
Yea, that made me uncomfortable too.
Every year this time, there is a slew of ads “rejected by the NFL for the Superbowl”. The gimmick is getting tired. The truth is that most of those ads were never intended to be aired, but just to be either rejected or not even offered.
“So go to our website to see our *banned* Superbowl ad!”
They lost me a long time ago.
