Louisiana probably not the best place to try to figure out life but a shame to learn that lesson the hard way.
She will not be "Leaving louisiana in the broad daylight", unfortunately.
Louisiana is a great place to hang out. It’s that there’s a difference between the “locals” and the “natives”. Some areas you could have a flat tire at 2AM down a dead end road and someone will help you. Others you could could simply be at risk driving through at 2PM.
Know the difference and stay alive.
Maybe not the best place, but better that some.
When I worked in South America, I frequently encountered young Americans hitch hiking their way through some extremely remote areas, and I'd try to warn them that if they continued on down the road they were on, they were going to encounter people who would kill them for no more reason than the shoes on their feet, but they'd ignore me and naively continue on down the road.

Louisiana is among the best places to figure out life, probably the most fascinating place in America, once you get back into the backwoods.
