American Catholics...still voting Democrat most of the time. However, it's only the Hispanics. The white Catholics vote Republican. But that Hispanic factor also helps explain Francis. Hispanics are overwhelmingly socialist. Maybe it's the Catholic church in their countries that's helped make that so. Hispanic Catholics even voted more liberal than American Jews for the first time in 2012. Their support for Democrats just keeps going up while every other group stays flat or goes down.
