Obama does have a certain Fabian tinge, but I really think his motivation is driven to a large degree by a sense of resentment and a sense of entitlement; and he's driven by a desire to squeeze those that have - esp the white middle class as he knows he cannot materially effect the rich - and transfer their wealth to those whom he feels have been screwed.

I answered as I did because fascism - unlike Fabian socialism - has always been driven by a sense of resentment. Peron was motivated all his life by a hatred of the US; Hitler, well, his motivations were well known.
