He doesn’t believe himself for one second. He just loves to entertain himself by seeing just how outlandish of a lie he can get away with.

I try to stay away from guessing people’s motives for bad behavior or what they are thinking, but his lies are just too obvious to give any benefit of the doubt about motive. You can see it when he gives the middle finger or uses the term “teabagger” with a smirk.

In fact, this is giving the benefit of the doubt because if he really does believe what he is saying then he is completely insane.
