"The popular and unrelenting support received to those who are borderline obese (not just 30 to 40 lbs overweight) frustrates me as a fitness advocate who intimately understands how poor health negatively effects a family, a community and a nation," Kang wrote, according to News 10.
According to Kang, her post was taken down within three hours of going viral. Facebook then shut down her account, saying her words constituted hate speech.

And there are also plenty of people who are not able to maintain their fitness or weight or skills their entire lives. They may have a disability, or have been injured or have an illness or come from a family with genetic maladies they inherit or just plain get old and are unable to continue. Not everyone fits one mold.
But in my life, I have noticed that there are always a few out there who are so full of themselves and have such an overly inflated view of their own self importance and knowledge, that they think they know better than others. You, my friend, appear to be one of those know-it alls who people dislike. You might want to let some of that arrogant air out of your head before it explodes.
Plenty of people can maintain courtesy and civility towards their fellow man for their entire lives. Running off at the mouth is the worst exercise I can think of.
Some, not many.
If Facebook actually cancelled the accounts of the obnoxious and the self-absorbed, they’d soon be out of members.
Which they apparently realize as they reversed themselves on this woman’s account.
I have never seen a fat 80 year old but I have seen plenty of skinny 80 year olds, mostly women. We have an 87 year old man that comes everyday to exercise class. I think that’s what keeps him alive. He is certainly not fat just normal.
I have a theory that everything you need to live a healthy life is available in nature wherever you live.
You eat the things that grow/live in your area as they are available and they contain what you need that time of year.
Foods that store well is what you need in winter. Your body needs different things at different times of the year.
Do you see the irony of your last two sentences as compared to the two previous to those?
I’d say it sounds like a good theory to me. A varied, natural diet.
I’m 65 & overweight. I look at pix of me in my thirties in the Army & I cry. Tell me all the fat jokes you can think of, I won’t be insulted, I haven’t given up & I’ll take motivation any way I can find it. Every day is a new beginning.
Fat people aren’t a class or privileged protected group. Obesity is a behaviorally spread disease & the cure is literally at one’s fingertips. The ones we eat with.
Ms. Kang doesn’t upset me, she inspires me. Pretty nice looking source of inspiration, IMO.
Wow! You know the saying.:
If you’re taking flak you’re over the target.
It’s really not that difficult for MOST Asian women.. They’re lucky that way. I’ve always wondered in ancient Asian culture if they were bred to be that way, and the fugly ones were culled from the gene pool.
My exercise used to be boinking fat chicks,,,
now Im married. . .
I don’t burn the calories like I used to. LOL
Heh. Good one.
Now, step away from the bread.
Of course I see the irony, because I wrote the last two sentences by design to pointedly show how arrogantly know-it-all statements like yours are. If you think “jogging” is the worst exercise there is, fine. Don’t jog. But to pretend that you know what is good or bad for me is presumptuous. I didn’t “jog” either. I ran road races competitively for 45 years for the competition more than the exercise. I didn’t take a poll to see if other people agreed with my lifestyle and activities or not. We can always find things to criticize about others.
One thing I’ve learned in 66 years, is that there is no certainty in this life. You think you’ve got it all figured out until reality intervenes and alters your plans. But then it sounds like you haven’t discovered that in your life yet. You are so lucky to be so perfect.
Don’t worry. Fat is the new black!
It’s not just this. She’s done nothing wrong, but she’s been in the Sensitivity Battalion’s sights for some time.
I didn’t say she was not wrong. I said the quote that was posted was not nearly as offensive as half the stuff on Facebook
Agreed. She posted vanilla stuff. There is definitely a back story on this.
who is more likely to get a heart attack? fat people or skinny people? i have no clue... i come from a family of healthy people... so i am just wondering...
