So they sang “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” not the more well known “Can the Circle Be Unbroken.” The lyrics of the two are different. It isn’t just that the former doesn’t have the word “lord.:” Didn’t anyone pick up on that?

The word "Lord" is found in the refrain of Can the Circle Be Unbroken, a hit for the Carter Family in the summer of 1935. Blake Shelton seems to have confused this song with the Ada Habershon/Charles Gabriel opus that the singers were performing.
