WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration Tuesday launched a bid to rein in the use of tax-exempt groups for political campaigning.
The effort is an attempt to reduce the role of loosely regulated big-money political outfits like GOP political guru Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS and the pro-Obama Priorities USA.
The Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department said they want to prohibit such groups from using ‘‘candidate-related political activity’’ like running ads, registering voters or distributing campaign literature as activities that qualify them to be tax-exempt ‘‘social welfare’’ organizations.

I thought they had “hearings” condemning this kind of government abuse on Capitol Hill. It looks like conservative Americans and the TEA Party are about to get their clocks cleaned again. Just in time for 2014. I feel like I’m living in the old Soviet Union or Saddam’s Iraq. I wish I could wake up from this nightmare.

Document dump Friday came early this week.
Having been caught abusing the Tea Party and other conservatives, they are pretending to “reform the system”—which is a substitute for singling out and punishing the guilty parties. (Who include Obama, of course.)
These “reforms” will, of course, be enforced only against the Tea Party and conservatives.
Obama is moving faster than ever to shut down the Constitution, definitively and finally.

It will take time to work through the regulatory process and carefully consider all public feedback as we strive to ensure that the standards for tax-exemption are clear and can be applied consistently.’’
BUT we don’t expect to have this finished BEFORE 2016.
Not one word about OFA that blatantly started out exactly the way they say won’t be tolerated now.

Seems clear enough: The strategy is to put in restrictive laws and then selectively enforce them on disfavored interests.
Its a proven approach. It works with guns (restrictive laws, but lenient sentencing for gangbangers), medical care (Obamacare exemptions for the favored), and taxes (Lois Lerner, selective audits to the book, special interest loopholes).
If the Dems go after Rove the GOPe will do something about IRS intimidation. They sure haven’t done a darn thing about all the assaults on the Tea Party.
The cycle also includes not enforcing existing laws, and then when crime soars they always call for new laws.
so....this time instead of using the IRS for behind-the-scenes First Amendment trampling, this time they are just gonna come out and do it in the open?
The last time the Zippo adm had the IRS target political groups, the TEA Party specifically, preparations were being made for a terrorist attack in NYC which the left tried to blame on the TEA Party.
Just a coincidence of course.
The terrorist just picked up on the dems talking points about the TEA Party being a bunch of Tim McVeigh wannabes and “spontaneously” decided to touch off a fertilizer car bomb in NYC.
Yep those terrorist are “spontaneous” with their attacks.
Hillary told us so, so it must be true.
