I detest green bean casserole, so I never made it. However my grown children both love it. We often had potluck Thanksgivings where I made the turkey and guests brought a side or dessert. One friend always brought green bean casserole. My children thought it eas wonderful and still do. I say ick. ;)
As for tomato aspic, which I do like, it seems to have passed from the table with the passing of our grandmothers. :( I have not had any in years. I miss it and my grandmother.
PS My grandmother used mayonaisse on hers, Duke’s brand.
Collard greens! Where’s the cornbread? You have to have cornbread with greens. Yum!
I am mac and cheese, old fashioned and reliable.
We don’t have mac and cheese for holidays, although we serve it as a side other times and occasionally as a main coursre. It is comforting and filling.
We are going to be eating out this year for the first time in a long time. any leftover gets stuffed in hawaiian sweet rolls later. we have a spiral ham ready to go to as backup if we clen our plates at the restaurant.. ;-]
It’s lots easier to dine out these days then avoiding liberal cousins and long beer lines.
I know what my wife’s favorite side dish would be, turkey butt.
Good morning, Kathy...((HUGS))...Maddi ran today and went to Fry's with us, for some last minute THXG groceries.
Baking the Sour Cream Coffee Cake for tomorrow.
Mac and cheese....my favorite side dish!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Are you hosting or traveling?
Good morning, beachie... ((HUGS))
Baking the Sour Cream Coffee Cake for tomorrow now.
Yes and thanks We wish you a wonderful day as well
Good morning, Vendome...haven’t heard much about the turkey neck.
Enjoy!
They didn’t have a lemon cake mix last night, so I got yellow and lemon pudding....did you know there is a box smaller than 3.4 oz? I finally found the right one. And I got an 8 oz container of sour cream. I will probably make it on Saturday, as we had to have a pumpkin pie.
I don't even know what a turnip looks like.
Enjoy!
Good morning, jocon...mashed potatoes and turkey gravy. Yummy!
That will all work.
Well...you are right, of course.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Hi Kathy! Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours!
Root vegetable, purple top and white bottom, with a multi-stemmed leafy green above-ground top. They range in size from a radish to the size of your fist or larger.
Just sayin', since you can't always see pictures till you get home!
Thanks....I think it fits in the “green things” category. LOL!
Yep!
