Their strategic sense isnt very strong, griped a prominent Republican lobbyist. Theyve repeatedly been wrong about how to handle this. Says a senior House Republican aide, Mike Needham played a large role in defeating ideas that would have worked out better. Yes, because establishment Republican tactics have been so good at rolling back the advances by the liberals over the past 70+ years. < /sarcasm>

I’d like to see a source for this assertion:
“Obamacares individual mandate was a concept born at Heritage.”
I only read half the article, but the author seems to think its a bad thing that Heritage is fighting the GOPe.
I’m fighting them too, so.....

Hit piece on Heritage, probably from McConnell’s smear shop.

They just want Heritage to go back to thinking great thoughts, and leave the politics to the GOP-E Corrupt Bastards Club.

This is an effort to isolate an individual, to freeze him and take shots at him as a way of destroying him and his organization. Yep, Alinksy-style move by the GOP-E.

This, in my opinion, is leftist propaganda against the Heritage Foundation and indirectly trying to dilute the effect of Jim Demint, whom I respect. No, in this fight, it's McConnell's machine attacking Demint's people.

I was at the Dallas event - loved Needham, and DeMint and Cruz. I have long been frustrated that Heritage wrote all of those articles but never did anything to get that knowledge distributed or to have any real impact. I love them all now!

It is very important to properly identify the enemy. Then the truly correct term is 'socialist' Republican or perhaps even 'communist'.

The GOPe tactic has always been do nothing, refuse to engage the Dems, get any deal they can no matter how bad and wait for the next election. That’s why they are PO’d at Cruz. He shined a bright light on the beltway GOP’s feckless duplicity while main street burns.
Millions of real people are being hurt by the Dems right now and the GOP game plan continues to be DO NOTHING.

The GOP Ruling Class hates the so called Tea Party more than the Democrats do.

I believe they are restrained from actively influencing Congress members. They publish their views. Those with eyes can read them.

FWIW, I donate to both Heritage Foundation AND Heritage Action. Foundation donations ARE tax deductible, Action donations are NOT.
The Foundation is a policy think tank and educational research group, hence the tax deductibility.
The Action group is purely political—pushing and helping, lobbying particular candidates and/or causes. Needham is in charge of Action.
