It’s the new new math. And I expect the old results
It is new math, social studies and English all rolled into one.
Some of the questions and tests I have seen are nearly undecipherable.
Good analogy.
Since the Progressives took control of the American educational system [there really was none prior to the 1890's], the result has been a progressive [pun intended] race to the bottom. Hundreds of curricula have been implemented. Hundreds of methods tried -- can you say "whole word"?
Yet, the results grew worse.
The problem is that the theory behind the American education system is flawed. Education cannot be democratic. Some children are brighter than others.
But that cannot be admitted. The bright ones must be short-changed and the dim ones must be forced to fight above their weight.
It can't work.
