Speaking of mice...
I was washing the dishes when I heard a high-pitched squeaking that sounded like the little mouse toys you can buy.
It was a live mouse, a very young one, being tortured by the cats. I snagged it with a paper towel and took it out to the garage to
show Bryan. It looked as if it were dead, but it did move a little. I didn’t know what to do with the tiny little thing. Bryan wanted to
bury it, but it was still alive.
I took it back into the house, got a handful of granola, and put the mouse and the granola in the basement. It was laying on its back
in my hand, mouth hanging open, eyes closed, and feet in the air. The little stinker took off like a shot the instant I put it down!
It ran behind a brass umbrella pail, and I put the granola on the paper towel near the pail. Sigh... I’m such a sucker. LOL!
Bryan is now trying to figure out how the mice are getting in again. We have been mouse-free for a few years now because he had
blocked off all of the places where they were getting in, he thought. I guess the weather is so bad that the mice are finding their way
in somehow.
Harsh winter comin’.

They might have chewed their way in. We had mice that gnawed on wood and got in.
I had to reboot. It’s seems ok now. :)

Bryan is going to have to police the perimeter again and reseal anyplace where they have
compromised the blockage of their former entry points, or if they have created new ones.
Keeping them out is better for them than letting them get tortured to death by three cats.
