As I’ve posted elsewhere in the thread. Love Field started it’s life as an Army Air Corps base in World War I. Since it was civilian long before 1947, I’ll concede that it wasn’t an Air Force base.

Thanks for the history. I remember something about Jimmy Dolittle being stationed at Love or another Dallas Army Air Corp field for a short stint.
