I think you just made my point. You are trying to substitute a dog (a very fine dog, I am sure, as is mine…though mine is surely the smartest dog, ever) for people. Lord help us, we certainly try. And our pets are a great comfort and pleasure, when people are not.

But, finally, they just can't replace what we should have from human beings.

I am not trying to substitute my dog for people at all. I just prefer being with my dog than with people. It’s kind of like what a long-dead pundit once said: “The more I see of people, the more I love animals.”

humans are more dangerous and evil than any dog i’ve met so far.

i lock my car, and my house, and carry weapons not because i am afraid of a random dog attack - although i am ready for that in the rare case it occurs.
