Doesn’t matter. The Dems have set the precedent (similar to the way Massachusetts Dems shot themselves in the foot vis a vis filling vacated congress/senate seats; they gimmicked the rules so they could put a ringer into Fat Teddy’s seat, and then screamed bloody murder when the same rule allowed Brown to take Kerry’s seat). Now the Republicans (assuming they ever grow a spine/brainstem) can do the same thing (and many other procedural violations) on the backs of all the Dem overreaches.
