But what about all the people who have already been kicked off their insurance or their Doctor is no longer available? They have already been adversely affected and in 2014 come Tax day there will be some mad people who will be having to pay not a 95.00 penalty as they were told but 1% of their salary for not having insurance what about those people they will be pissed.

Here's what. Some may say this is not responsible, but I say that I have been doing this for years now.

OPT OUT

I don't subscribe to health insurance. At all. I would like a true catastrophic policy, but that has now been made illegal. But for anything else, I'll take my chances.

What to I get for this? Well, for one thing I get my choice of doctor and hospital. I am not constrained by any "network" or other BS, and I can tell you that doctors are generally more than happy to give me a true and substantial discount in rreturn for being paid on the day of service, in full, without reams of paperwork. Take my word for it, and beyond that I can tell you that internet services linking patients with cash doctors clinics and hospitals already exist and will now grow exponentially.

I also don't worry about annual deductibles or co-pays that sometimes don't kick in until you have spent waaay more than I typically do in a year. An average family could easily pay out $15,000 to $20,000 or more before seeing one cent in insurance reimbursement with many of these junk plans sold on the government fraud site. I hardly ever spend more than a few thousand dollars in a years time.

I'm saving real money, folks, and I suggest that for many reasonably healthy folks, this is the way to go, especially for the next couple years when the penalties for non-participation in the fraud are jack squat.

And by "reasonably healthy" I don't mean totally healthy, I have numerous ailments which require periodic doctor visits and lab work, and also require me to purchase several medications on a regular basis. Still I save THOUSANDS a year.

As I said, I would like a true catastrophic policy, something with a $20,000 annual deductible, a reasonable co-pay, like 80-20 or 90-10, and an annual out of pocket limit of say, $30,000. This is to protect me against an end-of-life event. But, as I said, it is now illegal for an insurance company to offer me such a policy. So I do without.

But that doesn't mean if have to make myself doubly a victim, and I recommend to everyone who reads this to spread the word.

OPT OUT.

Something went really offkilter when catastrophic insurance was banned. Well, being wimpy and not standing up to this earlier has earned a whole nation a lesson.

I doubt that preaching sanctimoniously on private bulletin boards is going to help anyone. I want to see who is going to march on Washington.

John, in case you don't know this already, the “penalty” for not buying an ObamaCare policy is essentially not enforceable.

By 2017, I think it goes up to 2% of your income, so it will become a significant cost.

But - the IRS is specifically forbidden to file a civil or criminal lawsuit against any individual who fails to pay the penalty.

The IRS can only subtract your penalty from a tax refund.

If you can arrange your finances each year so as not to have a refund due, the IRS is helpless.

It cannot garnish your wages, put liens on your property, or put you in jail.

Oh I understand what you are saying about opting out.
I was speaking to O pushing the enrollment date back past the mid terms so people would still vote Democrat. My point was that there are many people who have been affected already and they already know who are responsible for it so they can not be fooled twice.
