What scares me, I was in New Haven [on another street] when this attack went down. I was with my GD, we were attending a presentation of the Gettysburg Address at the NH Historical Society.
The crowd we were mingling with, were 80 y/o somethings...you could tell they were all Volvo-driving Obama voters who were bird watchers and Yale or Smith grads. ;(
I truly don’t know how you protect yourself, when you are hit from behind.
You don’t...It requires a little luck, a little skill in anticipating threats, observing, knowing your surroundings, know a way out of where you are at all times, and have a backup to all of that...
Carrying a firearm is only a tool in the bigger scheme of things...
Unfortunately, times dictate we modify our behavior, how we interact with the public...When to see, and when to be seen...
There are lots of things individuals can to to mitigate the risks to themselves and the people around them out in public...
There are firearms instructors and other specialists that can tailor a training regimen around your expectations, and capabilities...It may cost little or too much money, and it depends upon how committed you are to protecting yourself against such an unreasonable threat...
