Though stamp collecting today is quite different from when I was really active in it (1952-80s), I learned a heck of a lot of geography, history, and about famous art works from it.

The Haitian, Ecuadorian and Mexican stamps (lithograph printing), often featured people and events from their history, as well as joint personalities/flags with the US.

Israeli stamps are great for historical archaeology. The Soviet bloc had lots of good space/aviation stamps (the US space stamps were excellent too, starting with the Goddard stamp, Fort Bliss, and Project Mercury, Apollo, Apollo-Soyuz, Echo balloon satellite, Moon landing/walks, etc.

All of US history can be found on stamps, esp. those in the 1930’s period.

Vatican stamps are just beautiful.

Pacific nation stamps feature exquisite sea creatures and birds. Iceland, Scandinavia countries, and Pacific nations feature fjords, glaciers, volcanoes, coral reefs, etc.

British stamps were full of Queens and Kings, not including those in Parliament and the British Foreign Service (private joke for those who know British history).

Those little pieces of paper are full of knowledge, like mini-encylopedias. Kept a lot of kids off the streets and helped them in school.

Today kids don’t know what a stamp is.

Oh looky how cute. Calling in the Catholic Hit Squad, like Obama when someone on TV criticizes his policies even slightly.

Resume your normal goat roper routine.

I like that baby Jesus, he looks a wee bit snarky.

He told his mama “respect my authoritay woman!”

“You should still eat your peas. Good Lord!” she said

“I am so ready for the “Airing of the Grievances” this year.”

Amen brother, so are those cancelled insureds. Let us hope we have a thorough airing this holiday season.

And you go right ahead panting over people whom you think are better than you.

It must suck to have such a low opinion of yourself.

“...with “Forever” crossed-out?”

well, I could be wrong about this, but I’m thinking it’s an anti-counterfeiting thing.

I thought of that.

But with the current regime in power, it fits all too well.

There are people better than me.

You, however, are not one of them.

Now run along and yip at some blog pimp. Yip! Yip!

If you go on their website, you’ll see a “Holy Family” stamp and other Christmas stamps.

No Christmas stamp this year?

Mrs. RWA and I were just talking about this. A Jewish religious symbols, a bunch of quasi-religious Kwanzaa crap, and then she asked, what's that in the middle?

I replied that it was a traditional Christian religious symbol, the gingerbread house. Huh? Maybe they think Christ was born in a gingerbread house.

Well, at least they put out some nice flag stamps a while ago.
