Oddly, the last time I looked at it, the price of gasoline between states did not reflect the difference between the State's fuel tax levels.

In examining fuel prices near state borders, the prices were closer than one would think.

Indiana charges sales tax on the retail price of gasoline rather than a fixed amount per gallon.
So the amount of gas tax varies depending on the price/gal.
