Tribune Co., the parent of the Los Angeles Times, unveiled a restructuring plan that will slash nearly 700 jobs over the next year.

The cutbacks indicate that the newspaper division is bracing for another drop in advertising in 2014, analysts said.
Print ad revenue fell nearly $200 million in the last two years and an additional $62 million in the first nine months of this year.

The closing of their doors can’t come too soon, nothing but propaganda. Once upon a time the O.C. Register was a balanced voice, but they too have devolved and are now filled with a bunch of pro “immigrant” crapola and will probably be following the LA Slimes into the crapper. The only time I waste money on a newspaper nowadays is if the wife wants the Sunday ads.
They will then outsource all of those activities to subcontractors who will pay their employees less and offer them fewer benefits.
So while the reporters at the LA Times are editorializing in favor of a "living wage" and good benefits, their management will be seeing to it that the exact opposite happens for their operations staff.

They would rather go out of business than sell it to anyone who might be a bit conservative, not that anyone would plow money into that dying business.
