Full Title: 'There's a Rembrandt trapped in this body': George W. Bush presents Jay Leno with the comic's life-like portrait while appearing on The Tonight Show to talk about his life after presidency
Former President George W. Bush returned to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Tuesday night to talk about his life away from the spotlight and bid farewell to his favorite late-night host.
Looking trim in a grey suit and red polka-dot die, a beaming Mr Bush, 67, told Mr Leno, who is being replaced by Jimmy Fallon in February, that he wanted to see him before he heads 'out to pasture.
Since leaving office in 2009, Mr Bush has kept a low profile and has been reluctant to publicly discuss the policies of his successor, President Barack Obama.
During Tuesdays interview on The Tonight Show, Mr Bush reiterated his position, saying that it is not good for the country when a former president criticizes the decisions of his successor.
However, the Republican could not pass up on the opportunity to get in a gentle jab at Mr Obama, a Democrat.
When Mr Leno pointed out that nowadays, late-night comedians are busy making fun of the embattled president, Bush said with a chuckle: Better him than me.
The 43rd president of the United States went on to explain that he does not miss being at the helm of the nation, adding that eight years is plenty.

Work of art: The amateur artist succeeded in capturing the comedian's prominent chin, wry smile and his signature lock of grey hair
More like Don Martin, the artist from Mad Magazine.
I’m impressed. Who knew?
Better than anything I could produce!
Not bad, GWB, not bad at all! Most “artists” would not get that likeness.
Nice work, actually. A whole lot better than I could ever do.
If George Bush is being rehabilitated, its the Democrats worst political nightmare.
Why does this wise comment seem to apply only to Republican former Presidents?
Jay Leno seems to have done quite well in life with his prominent chin. Why in the world would John Kerry have had his prominent chin restructured so that now he looks like the total failure that he really is?
Just asking.
I saw the program. Reminded me that at one time we had a President that got up early every day and worked hard for ALL Americans.
ain’t that the truth.
But, But, But, now we have a president that sings in the bathroom all the time. (the Wookie, on BET)
Jay Leno was genuinely touched by the portrait. Leno and GWB seem to share a friendly relationship and they work together supporting injured veterans. The segment last night was not only funny, it was also heartwarming. Laura Bush was her usual poised and lovely self.
Whatever your feelings towards the former president are, he has one thing going for him the current president will never have and that is GWB is a lover of this Nation and he has class.
I still love W and am happy to see him content & classy in his retirement.
Because it's hard to be a wise former president when you weren't a particularly wise president. Not that W was the wisest man ever but he loves his country and its traditions and freedom.
I think that the highlights and shadows are better than good. I’d hang that picture on my wall with pride.
Whatever President Bush’s policy shortcomings, there was never any question about his deep love of his country.
W-embrandt?
