So you would be willing to involuntarily give up body fluid samples--which contain your DNA--without a warrant?

Yep. That is the price of the freedom to live in a law-abiding country. Laws, rules, regulations...all of the above.

I lived in Mexico City for two years and did have to pay "mordidas" a few times. I was actually in the wrong all three times.

Once I was in the wrong; the cop stopped me, scolded me and then let me go. He could have hauled me off to the pokey but he just read me the riot act. And no, I didn't cry. I almost did, but I didn't. He COULD HAVE done whatever he wanted. I knew that. I wasn't in Kansas any more.
An honest, good Mexican motorcycle cop. Go figure.

Lol. You had better NEVER leave America. STAY HERE. THIS is the best country in the world....and I have lived in MANY places. You wouldn't do well in 3rd world countries where law is ... not the same as it is here. God bless America.

NO. You are wrong, you would give them your DNA, because you are on the road? It is AMAZING how easily and freely, you give up your freedoms. This in not Mexico. They need a warrant.

Isn’t the 4th Amendment one of our laws?

You seem to be condoning the increasing levels of statism.

Greatness is not about being slightly better than crap.

But a cop who demands your DNA without a warrant isn't abiding by the law--he's violating the law of the land, the Constitution.

That's the price of freedom!?

Are you listening to yourself!?

Having to involuntarily give up fluid samples without a warrant is THE EXACT OPPOSITE of freedom.

It doesn't matter if the boot on your neck is the boot of the socialist authoritarians enforcing EPA guidelines, or the boot of a law-and-order, thin-blue-line type trying to "make the streets safer", it's still a boot on your neck.

You need to study the Constitution, study the reasons that the founders enshrined our freedoms in the Bill of Rights, and until you do that, you need to re-consider whether you are on the right forum.

“You had better NEVER leave America.”

I can easily name at least 10 cities I’ve visited in other countries which are way safer than Obama’s America. I’d live in any of them vs. DC.

Since you love laws, rules and regulations, you should move to Cuba or North Korea, which have plenty of those.

There was more “law” and there was more “order” in my and my parent’s day. We don’t need cops or the government wasting time pulling us over and forcing us to give them bodily fluids as the “price” to pay for living in a “free” country. This country is less free when TPTB take away your freedom of driving down publicly funded streets without being harrassed to show your “papers” or pulled over and give them your spit or blood for pete’s sake.

If you don’t mind being pulled over without probable cause, and you don’t mind DNA samples being forcibly taken from you, would you also have no problem with police searches of your home? If, say, they set up door-to-door searches in your neighborhood looking for residents who had drugs?

If you wouldn’t mind THAT, would you mind the feds coming into your house and examining your reading material, and confiscating magazines and newspapers they didn’t want you to have?

Where does it cross the line for you?

Ed
