I certainly do not condone drug use/abuse. I was a teenager in the ‘60s and I wasn’t in the drug scene then and never did do drugs. I was well into my adult years before I knew what pot smelled like. HAVING SAID THAT..... what Congressman Radel did is inexcusable, BUT, it does not offend me as badly as some guy who is screwing around on his wife with a staffer, having sex with a male page or getting oral sex from a little girl in the oval office. Morally, Adultery and Fornication trumps a dude getting high. Only difference: Adultery and Fornication is not against the Law.
Radel bought 3.5 grams, AKA an 8 ball, one eighth of an ounce of cocaine.
Hardly an amount to be consumed by oneself on a drunken whim.
