Surprising that a patient whom the doctors, etc. agreed should be committed, was not TRANSFERRED to another facility if the first facility was full.

RIP and prayers for both son and father.

Mental health facilities are in a shambles and there are never enough beds. We can have patients wait in our ER 2-3 days for a bed. And that’s basically ant bed in a large metro area.

Not just surprising, actionable I would say. They knew he was a danger to himself and others, and they turned him loose, so they share some responsibility for his actions.

It doesn't work like that. Each facility is insular.
