Washington DC talk show host Chris Plante reported today that Barack Obama omitted the words "under God" from the Gettysburg Address when reciting the great speech for a Ken Burns documentary.
Burns had filmed all living presidents as well as various Hollywood personalities and luminaries to pay homage to the speech which was delivered by Abraham Lincoln 150 years ago, today.
Plante broke the story on Washington DC talk radio station WMAL on his mid-morning program, "The Chris Plante Show."

Which version is that?
Obama needs prayers.
He’ll be REAL sorry on the Day of Judgement!
As usual one learns a lot reading FR. I didn’t know there was so many different (saved) versions of the Gettysburg Address. (Very seldom the drafts of historical speeches are retained.)
However, it looks like this is a made up controversy. PBS states that they asked president Obama to read the first version (the Nicolay version). I haven’t listened through all the other renditions but it appears that the other three presidents who were asked to read the address all used one of the latter versions, containing “a nation under God”.
Why this is so, whether it really was PBS who gave Obama that version, or if it was the WH who decided which version to use can always be open to discussion.
...unexpectedly...
Respectfully disagree on your last point.
Obama claims and is portrayed as a huge Lincoln Afficionado. Should he have not known there were different versions? And possibly that the biggest difference between them is the presence of “under God”?
So either Obama isn’t as big of a Lincoln scholar as he claims to be (and got manipulated. By Ken Burns) or he knowingly agreed to read the Hay copy without “under God”.
Or eliminating us entirely.
Although the woman is born away from the face of the serpent on the wings of an eagle, we are nowhere to be found in the last battle.
He’s done it before. The media don’t report it, and so the media prove that they are 100% in agreement with that, and that they are as anti-American and marxist as the big chief.
And in his mind, he IS the government.
Three times.
He didn't kow until he read it in the papers, like everything else.
Bliss version.
You might also do a little research on contemporary reporting of the event. There were apparently 4 reporters that all reported the "Under God" statement was in the delivered speech.
He really wanted to insert Allah instead, but he’s Christian you know.
And the liberals are so proud of him for it.
Yup, that’s my take as well. He read what was up on the telepromter, nothing more, nothing less.
But still revealing ...
Maybe Burns used this version because he knew there would be no objection from the spitehouse? First time he felt he could get away with it.
Yes, controversy drives ratings. Which fill the pockets of guys like Burns.
Burns certainly knew. And knew what the result would be.
Like the background?
