Oh well, maybe she can get on Medicaid.
First, she’s a single mom. Where is her husband to take care of her?
Her story brings a mix of pity and told-you-so. But, if a mugging can convert a liberal to a conservative, let us hope her story has a happy ending.
....but is Schadenfreude overload covered by Obamacare...?
probably not.
It doesn’t fit the narrative.
Thats a bit sexist.
Its not a husbands job to do that, its the governments.
What if the kids have two mommies?
Interesting that a “success story” is defined as someone successful at getting a subsidy. No inventions, no accomplishments, no hard work and sacrifice — just a free healthcare lunch.
Now it turns out that lunch isn’t free — and she isn’t a big success any more.
And even if we end up paying more after subsidy we are still supposed to be grateful for getting the subsidy. "Duh, Obama helped me"
Yesterday Sharpton called those on free medicaid ‘customers’
Not kidding.
That’s quality. :)
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
With his nick he may be a plumber and I think he may be using a mobile device. Those dups may be “butt posts” when he puts his phone back into his pocket.
The penalty is $95 or 1% of your income , whichever is higher. In her case, it is $500, 1% of $50,000.
This Massive humiliating failure of Obamacare is just a Obama setup? Just a brilliant diabolical trick by a mastermind?
Well it sure has a bunch of Democrat Senators and House members in a tizzy.
He must not have let them onto the big plan.
No, the story of the woman ... that’s the bait and switch.
Obamacare is just plain evil, stupid and communist crap...
She said she still supports Obama even though she wont buy his insurance policy.
Yet another real-life instance where that Obama-promised “steak and lobster dinner” turns out to be, in reality, a crap sandwich on stale and moldy bread. unpalatable.
Gee. What a surprise.
She still is going to "pay" for insurance - it's somebody else's!
If I am reading it right she makes just under $50,000 a year. That means she gets to pay a "tax" of $95 or 1% on her gross income (over $9500), whichever is higher. In other words, she will owe the IRS about an additional $410 in taxes for 2014 tax year,... for no insurance.
I've got a feeling 0bama is going to be losing another voter...
Of course if she doesnt pay it nothing happens to her, they might take it from her refund.
RE :”I've got a feeling 0bama is going to be losing another voter...”
He's not running again. And he doesnt seem worried about the fool Democrats running in 2014.
In some circles that would be known as "bait and switch" and is in fact illegal.
If ya think about it how do the insurance companies know how to price their policies? They dont know what their risk pool will be.
You're right, they don't. They know they are mandated to pick up some additional risks because there are policies they are going to be legally forced to write that they would have otherwise not written. How much? Who knows. If the market was left on its own they could probably estimate it fairly accurately with their models. (insurance companies have enormous amounts of data) But with the distorting effects of government...
Ezra Kline over at MSNBC said he hopes the insurance companies will price them reasonably low at a loss because under Obamacare the taxpayers pick up half that loss.
Proving that Kline knows nothing about business in the real world. In the real world loss is loss, even when it is only half as bad as it could be. Companies that lose money go out of business. Therefore, in the face of uncertainty well-run companies hedge higher to protect their employees (against unemployment) and their investors. If it is a smaller market share at least it is a profitable small share, rather than a bigger unprofitable slice.
