The liberal elite will never give up on this.

Like the Gun Control Act of 68, they will never allow a full retreat.

Liberal politicians, who are the ones getting nervous, will be sacrificed for the greater good.

The hope is to retain a core group of liberals who can prevent a future GOP repeal, but pushing the “compromise” message.

The only way Obamacare has a chance of being killed is if the GOP gets a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, retains control of the House and seats a solid conservative in the White House.....and even then, they may not have the fortitude to repeal.

And even then, you never know what the Dread Pirate Roberts will do.

May not? DO NOT.

The gop wing of the uniparty has zero interest whatsoever in a repeal. They’ll be perfectly happy to tweak it and make like they’ll actually do something useful. But in the end, repeal will always be just a little too hard for the gop to do.

The Republicans don't need a filibuster-proof majority to kill Obamacare.

The final version of Obamacare was passed after they lost their filibuster-proof Senate and Reid used budget reconciliation to pass the House-passed amendments.

McConnell has frequently remarked that, given a simple majority, he can kill Obamacare in the Senate using the same budget reconciliation device (which requires only a 50% + 1 vote).
