Conservative talk hosts Jim Quinn and Rose Tennent are no longer part of Clear Channel's WPGB 104.7 FM morning programming. The duo finished its run in Pittsburgh at the end of last week.

Well, im done with that channel
I remember Jim Quinn’s very conservative-leaning broadcasts in the early 1990’s. (maybe on 96.9 in Pittsburgh?) To be honest, he lasted much longer that I thought he would, and I suspect he’ll find a gig somewhere else soon.
I think he is at least 72 years old and may not want another gig. All very mysterious as they did their show Friday with not a hint of any problems brewing.
Then Friday a repeat show. And today they were replaced by a third-rate program out of Wheeling, West Virginia. One of their affiliates was told just 10 min. before airtime that they had been canned.
sports and "Bloomdaddy" -- part of the nudge to move talk radio to a self-imposed "fairness doctrine"? Who are the "experts" telling talk radio that people are tired of so much political, constitutional, and national issues talk? A hint is when the "experts" might also add that people are sick of hearing criticism of PRESIDENT! Obama.
They are probably going sports. That’s what is happening here.
but we already have 93.7 the Fan, that covers everything local for sports, and national as well.

The Quinn and Rose show has been on the air for 18 years with great success. Ten of those years were at 104.7. We love doing our show.
We want our listeners to know how much we have enjoyed bringing you the news every morning. We feel like we are all part of one big family.
Your loyalty and support over the years has meant so much to us and we think you know that. Please know that we appreciate each and every one of you.
A morning without you is like a morning without coffee. And we HATE a morning without coffee!! You have always meant so much to us. We cannot find words adequate to express to you just how much.
As we have new information, we will keep you posted at www.warroom.com on the front page.
Be sure to check in there periodically for updates.
Our commitment has been, and will always be, to conservative values and to this great country of ours.
Rest assured, we will be back on the air!
Thank you all for your
SNAP and sports......the bread and circuses of our time.
End should have been...
Thank you for your support.
We love you!
Q&R
Bloomdaddy’s topics for this morning were “Gee, aren’t those Steeler throwback uniforms ugly?” and “Shouldn’t little leaguers wear some sort of protective headgear on the mound?”
Saving discussion of the big Wetzel County Sewer Bond Issue for sweeps apparently...

On June 17 of this year Clear Channel announced that Nathan Daschle would become Executive Vice President for Political Strategy, effective immediately. In this new position, Daschle will develop and oversee a Washington, D.C.-based team that will focus on working with political and issue advertisers and advertising agencies to develop custom strategies and campaigns. Nathan Daschle is the son of former Dem Senate leader Tom Daschle. Nathan was also Executive Director of the Democratic Governors Association. I believe this and the recent removal of many of Clear Channels conservative programing from Sirius XM shows what direction they intend to take.

Glad to see that Jimmy is not ready to hang it up yet!
Thank you!
Well then Rush had better be looking over his shoulder. He practically took down Nathan Daschle’s dad single-handedly.
Godspeed Quinn & Rose! You will land on your feet and your fans will follow where they take you!
Yup! I find it difficult to believe he would walk away from a contract dispute without having something in the works.
Then again radio egos are the worst, LOL! I deal with them everyday. There are exceptions but most, older personalities are ...not gonna say it.
Do you think that the contract dispute was over money or control of content?
My guess is that CC wanted to rein him in on certain topics, particularly in view of this FCC fishing expedition over content.
Thanks for the update, p6.
I really hope they are back on the air soon. Mornings won’t be the same without them.
That station will go down the tubes quickly now, I suspect.
