They already boycott Idaho...too cold, no professional sports teams, no crack to be had, and most law-abiding citizens are armed. It's easier to drive another couple of hours to Seattle or Portland.

My wife and I want to feel safe when we go there.

I have been a resident of Florida for over 30 years. Since getting married last year, my wife, also a long-time Floridian, and I like to go on "stay-cations" in the local area. Our mindset is, "People from around the world spend their entire savings to come to Florida. We LIVE here."

I absolutely love making friends with tourists when we're at local resorts, and one of the conversations we always tend to have, dependent really on from where they came, is Florida's "reputation."

I always ask, "Well, do you FEEL unsafe here in Florida?"

The answer is ALWAYS "No." After the Zimmerman trial, many of the folks with whom we still maintain contact tell us that they love Florida BECAUSE we're armed. The biggest shock was hearing that from our left-of-center French friends, but even they understood that the French revolution wouldn't have been won without guns.
