NM State Police patrol pretty large areas. 2 of my nephews were on the force for a while and each had 800 to 1000 square miles of area where they were the only NMSP. I was surprised to see three cruisers in this video. About 400 officers and over 200,000 square miles.
They come down my way and do the same sort of thing every couple months, and they fill up a motel for a few days.
They would make hay if there was a texting law here, it is seriously bad.
