Right - she could have just taken her ticket. Initially the cop was polite and appropriate.
And the first cop could have been less angry and reactive the second time too. When you deal with people who are likely to be upset, as I do in the hospital where I work, one hopes you can avoid taking it personally and rise above your feelings of pride or control or whatever.
At least she managed to avoid the enema process - maybe something in the car labeled as drug paraphernalia really did worry her about that being a possibility.

I went to the link you put up. There was no video there. There was no link to a video there, from what I could tell. Maybe it’s me.

I wasn't aware when police pull you over for something, your cooperation is optional.

71 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone Thats my entire 62 mile drive to work, but I keep it at 69, for obvious reasons.
The road is not an interstate highway. It is narrow winding mountain road.
She was not stopped in Southern New Mexico for drugs.
She was stopped for speeding on a winding mountainous road
by the State Patrol.

I don’t get it. If the plate was good, there was no place she could have driven to that the could not bring her back.

African-American mother Oriana Ferrell was pulled over in Taos for going 71 mph in a 55 mph zone on Oct. 28. Ferrell was later arrested and charged with child abuse, fleeing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The 14-year-old boy was charged with battery. The other children were taken into the custody the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department. They were later placed in the care of a family known to Ferrell, according to court documents obtained by The Taos News.
At a hearing on Tuesday, Eighth Judicial District Judge Jeff McElroy reviewed the dashcam footage and said that the court is concerned about the nature of these charges.

Apparently she has a record of multiple DWIs. More to this story than meets the eye. Although I agree the cop who fired his gun was way out of line

It all started when black female driver felt she was under zero compulsion to obey a white policeman’s simple orders. Why should she when 0bama the mocha messiah is president??
One account says there was narcotics stuff in the car. Maybe why she took off twice? Was she on drugs at the time? Or maybe her brain is just messed up in general from them.
“possession of drug paraphernalia” is one of the charges

Good question.
Maybe he was in fear for his life from being poisoned by her vehicle's exhaust gases?

There is a huge picture right under the title which in a few moments will show an arrow to click on and watch the video.
It is above the actual article itself.

Gotcha. In my case it is all two lane roads. My biggest concern is deer. And it's just rolling hills but very twisty. It's why I got the FR-S.
And to be blunt, around some corners on these roads, 55 mph would put me in the ditch - even in the FR-S. It's one of the things I love around here. I've moved from the Seattle area where there is a cop around every corner where you even CAN speed due to light traffic, to a place where, if I drive the speed limit, in some places I'll kill myself.
I love that kind of freedom wehn I drive. It is the reason I have enjoyed, for over two years, commuting 2.5 hours every day.

Although I agree the cop who fired his gun was way out of line I'm reluctant to call out the cop's actions at this point. There could have been a threat issued by the kid who kept getting out of the van and heading at the cop.
