‘What difference does it make?’

IMHO there is a very, very important consideration when assessing how people like Hillary, Bill, Obama, and many, many others came by their political positions and obtained what I call IBTT (influence beyond their talents). Most of them obtained political connections and ultimately political power via the Academy. Places like Harvard Law School etc. have become the training camps for political power. This leads to an incredible amount of ‘group think’, establishes an almost ‘royalty’ aspect to politics, centralizes the power brokers (thus promoting corruption), and has IMHO deprived us of having the most visionary, creative, and ethical elected government that we can have. Elected government should look like America, not Harvard, or any other ‘elite’ academy. That model hasn't worked, and won't ever work.
If Hillary were the same person she is now, but had attended the U of Illinois, how likely is it now that she'd be a potential Presidential candidate? If Bill Clinton had been a Razorback, how likely is it he would have become President?
