If by “Ron Paul type people” you are referring to libertarians or to less-government conservatives, then *of course* those are voters whom we need to support the GOP nominee (something that Ron Paul himself rarely does). But if you mean people attracted to Ron Paul because of his anti-Semitic views, or due to his position to permit Iran to develop nuclear weapons, then, frankly, I’d rather have them stay away from the Republican Party lest they corrupt it with their dangerous and un-American views.

And if you read carefully, I mentioned “Paulbots” and “Paulistinians,” which, as the names imply, refer to persons who follow Ron Paul’s cult blindly (”Paulbots” comes from “robots” and “Paulistinians” is an allusion to Branch Davidians”) instead of thinking for themselves. Dr. Brannon appears to be such a Paulbot that he even plagiarizes Rand Paul’s speeches and websites (which is ironic, given how Rand Paul recently got into trouble for using other people’s words without attribution). People who belong to cults can’t be convinced to vote for a different conservative unless their leader tells them to do so, which is why Paulistinians voted third party or otherwise refused to vote for Republicans in the 2008 and 2012 elections, helping Obama and Senate Democrats secure victory.

So to conservatives and libertarians, my advice is to study carefully not only at the words, but also at the deeds, of Dr. Brannon and Mr. Tillis, becore deciding on one versus the other. While it is smart to judge people by the company they keep, being in elected office for the past 7 years does not make one a go-along-to-get-along RINO, and being beholden to Ron Paul’s organization is not, I would posit, a good thing.

But once the primary is over, I hope that all conservatives and libertarians come together and support the Republican nominee in order to vote out the execrable Kay Hagan. We’re better off with “the other Republican,” whose feet we can hold to the fire if he isn’t living up to his promises, instead of six more years of a 95% liberal.

Well said, let’s not demonize each other, our goal is a smaller more conservative and constitutional based government.

And no I don’t support the anti-semites either, but I will ally with most Ron Paul followers that are libertarians/conservative/constitutionalists.
