The tattered race-card is once again deployed because Americans are criticizing their President and he happens to be black. This time it was waved around by Oprah Winfrey while in the UK shilling for her new film:
Oprah Winfrey has been a prominent supporter of Barack Obama. She thinks that both he and the Office of President have been treated with contempt because of the colour of his skin.
“There’s a level of disrespect for the office that occurs. And that occurs in some cases and maybe even many cases because he’s African American. There’s no question about that and it’s the kind of thing nobody ever says but everybody’s thinking it.”
“Everybody” … got that? ”Everybody” is thinking it.
No one could be basing their conclusion about him on the apparent fact that he’s an incompetent who happens to be black. No one could be thinking that his political agenda defines him and they oppose it. No one could possibly be opposed to him because his actions have directly effected their lives in a negative way (see ObamaCare), could they?
No all “everybody” ever thinks about is how black he is and how badly they hate him for that (never mind the cognitive dissonance that must exist in order to ignore his election and re-election and reach this conclusion).
This is what normally happens when one personally invests in a politician and has to find a way to excuse their miserable failure. Winfrey put a lot of personal capital on the line for Obama and essentially understands he’s failing but refuses to see the real reasons for why that’s happening. Instead she turns to the old and dependable habit of crying “race"

Americans are disappointed that they elected the first black president, and he turned out to be so stupid.
Well, I’m glad O set me straight. I thought I didn’t like him because of his arrogance and “fundamentally changing” the country with his socialist philosophy.
As far as disrespecting the office...no one disrespects it more than The Won himself.
Actually, it is the content of his character that I take issue with - not the color of his skin. It is a pity that such a concept is beyond the understanding of someone as successful as Winfrey.
Okra tried this not too long ago over perceived racism by a lowly store clerk and came across as a whining, ungrateful prima donna.

Sorry Oprah, we wouldn’t like Obamas policies if he were white, either. In fact, I think you don’t think the criticism of Obama is legitimate because it comes mostly from Republicans...which is the real discrimination.
Why is it that blacks seem to be the only ones who place so much emphasis on their skin color?
The only people I know who have difficulty with black people are liberal democrats. I think it’s starting to show.
If a white candidate with Obama’s record had run for reelection in 2012, he would have lost in a landslide.
That should have been the case with Obama, but his race actually caused many more people to vote for him than against him.
