Necessity, the mother of invention, ping!
Obviously the guy hasn’t enlisted the aid of a an attorney. If he had, the disclaimer would have read “do not utilize the services of an auto mechanic when giving birth...”
My hat’s off to those who try to make the world a better place through ingenuity and addressing a problem. Meanwhile there’s a muslim somewhere working on a yet bigger truck bomb.
They don’t have liability laws in the Third World?
Mechanics just keep things working like they’re supposed to, and occasionally ya gotta make a tool.
A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and HMO
paperwork, and was burned out. Hoping to try another career where his
skillful hands would be beneficial, he decided to become a mechanic.
He went to the local technical college, signed up for evening classes,
attended diligently, and learned all he could. When the time of the
practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks
and completed the exam with tremendous skill.
When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had
obtained a score of 150%. Fearing an error, he called the Instructor,
saying, I dont want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding
result, but I wonder if there is an error in the grade?
The instructor said, During the exam, you took the engine apart
perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. You put the engine
back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark.
After a pause, the instructor added, I gave you an extra 50% because
you did it all through the muffler, which Ive never seen done in my
entire career.
"What harm could that do, ya know?"
It’s a little strange to think that a plastic bag over their head could help a child, but I guess they are still getting their oxygen from the umbilical cord at that point.
It is funny that the demonstration doll has clothes on though!
Here’s a video showing how he developed it:

and the NYT story with more details:

Great invention for mankind, hope he gets wealthy, even in Argentina.
Obviously this mechanic doesn’t know that you’re supposed to kill third-world babies. It’s the progressive thing to do.
I was expecting the skillful application of a 20 ton Harbor Freight shop press and a gear puller.
