It wasn't too long ago that a poll showed that about 40% of Americans didn't know that Obamacare had been implemented,

I found the most striking thing Obama said today at the press conference was his sudden realization that most Americans weren't up to the task of selecting their own health insurance. They didn't understand the bureaucratic language and the website must be simplified to make it work. Basically, he said Americans were too dumb and needed someone to help them. Spoken like a true communist. The State knows best.

Actually, I would agree with this statement. Having sat through several dozen incredibly dumbed down insurance explanations as an employee, I'd guess that a fair percentage of people look at their benefits and just pick the cheapest one. Heck, I'm no dummy and I need to take a few minutes every year to read things overs and weigh the pros and cons.

However, the fact that people are idiots doesn't mean that they need to be pushed into a single payer "State Knows Best" system. No winners there, you just take what you get and be thankful for it.

If anything, a population of idiots should encourage more privatization, as the ins. companies will have added incentive to better explain what they offer....or lose customers.
