He bet on games, there is a rule that you can’t bet on games. He bet on his own games, games in which he controlled the outcome and when he didn’t bet on his games, it was a defacto bet against his own team. He did this to himself.

I always thought Pete and the Commissioner knew whatever happened was even worse than what was revealed such as actual bets against his own team for Pete to have essentially accepted the lifetime ban. But, put as you did, maybe it was all revealed and some are just too blind to see it as it was.
