I hate to see fielder go but a DHer like Fielder is the kind of guy who provides long balls but doesn’t advance runners much otherwise.
I’d rather see a batter hit a bloop single to the outfield 3 of 5 at bats than 1 home run and 4 strike outs.

I agree. Brilliant move for DET all the way around. Look who they are replacing Fielder with - Cabrera.
A more than adequate replacement to say the least.
He just needs to be a more consistent hitter and I know he can. But he doesn’t run well, never has.
