“lawmakers have tried to stop the U.S. Army from giving logistics contracts to companies linked to Afghan insurgents”

Good God,, I had no idea we were fighting so brutally. This is total war! We are seriously considering not hiring the enemy to run our logistics? Whats next, nuclear attack?

It’s part of Petraeus’ COIN strategy or the business ROE. Instead of waiting till after the war to rebuild, they fund the enemy during the war to “Influence insurgent-minded individuals to adopt a neutral disposition.”

How’s that working out for you, Mr. Petraeus?

One thing I have to say about the Taliban, they use their money to achieve their goals, as opposed to those who get handouts in the United States.
