Oh I'm not arguing with you, sport. There is no point in arguing with nanny staters who want to micro manage the lives of others. But enjoy the decline. People like you will not do well when the math reasserts itself and bottom is reached.
Given the known facts the likelihood is far greater that the cop saved his life than that the cop prevented the child from being saved.
Regarding the above statement, Given the known facts - - should be more accurately stated: Given what has been reported - - . You do not know the facts unless you have a video of the fire scene beginning with the first person of any sort to respond and ending after the cops, the father and his boy departed. I do not have a video.
The closest thing to a video is at the bottom of this page:
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/dad-tasered-save-son-burning-home-article-1.1509707
Listen to the video, the sister-in-law who is much closer the the facts than either of us related the chain of events as the cops stopping the father before the fire department arrived.
In post 22 you said: At the same time, the police officer - who is also a free individual - should feel free to follow his conscience and prevent a lunatic from committing suicide.
Read my post #61: This fellow was not suicidal. Suicide is the action of killing oneself intentionally. The fathers own death was somewhere on the back burner, if at all even thought of.
The father was not a lunatic and intentional suicide was clearly not the case.
It is a cops duty to stop a lunatic such as someone standing on a building getting ready to jump or one that puts a gun to his head and threatens to pull the trigger. If there happened to be a professional fire fighter around to make a judgement call that it was too dangerous, then I would likely agree with the cops. But the person in the video said the father was restrained prior to the firefighters getting there.
A good lawyer could probably make a criminally negligent homicide case against the cops for knowing full well there was a life at risk and by being too cowardly to go in and whats worse stopping someone with balls that wanted to go in.
These cops are a complete disgrace. I cannot see how you can keep defending them.
Don't you understand...? The cops are in charge. They are the authority figures and we must all bow, stoop and genuflect appropriately before out betters.
Hard times are coming. It's mathematically impossible to avoid now. Take note of the people in your neighborhood like the badge licking clown posting to us. They will be rushing to turn in their neighbors for having weapons, stored food, cash, anything that the people claiming to be in charge deem to be unacceptable. Avoid them. Tell them nothing, ever. Don't help them. Look at this as a teachable moment. The time for winning hearts and minds is pretty much over. Saving asses is going to be the next concern.
I’m a firm believer in history repeating itself.
Something on the order of Nazi Germany will happen again. Nations like the Nazi’s need their Gestapo and SS and each nation today has a percentage of psychopaths and narcissists ready to fill those boots. The rogue cops, the bully cops of today will be our SS and Gestapo when our great nation finally falls.
The Gestapo/SS crowd will be pretty much in the open for all to see. But the slimy traitorous cowardly jerkwad traitors that turn in their neighbors deserve special recognition.
Few Vichy French got trials after the end of WWII. The French just strung up or shot most of them. In area of traitors, history will repeat itself also.
“According to the original account, they were in the front room and exited by the front door while the child was in the back room and also tried to exit through the front room after they had already left. He did not make it to the front door.”
According to every account I have read you are wrong.
“There is no hard evidence to the contrary.”
There is no evidence to support your statement.
