Hang him.
Not quite so fast there. Accident was 3+ hours before the shooting. Where was she? Was she agitated enough he might reasonably think she meant to rob rob the house, or possibly enter under false pretenses and commit some other act? She may have been very irrational and bringing the gun to the door might well be reasonable in that case.
It says she hit the car and then drove off. While the penalty for hit and run is not death, she came back to a location no where close to the parked car. Blocks away. Probably hysterical and not making much sense.
Family says she drove around for hours looking for help. I call BS on that. She didn't need help, if she did call 911 and have them give her directions to the nearest police station.
What I suspect happened was that she was drunk/high on something and didn't want the police to find her until it had worn off. This would explain a lot.
There is a reasonably common MO for home invasion robberies where a single female knocks on the door. When it opens her male accomplices rush the door and force their way in. She holds it open just long enough for them to get to it before it can be closed and locked. She looks harmless, but it is actually deadly to the occupants of the home. This is Detroit -- every scam known has been tried here in the recent past and may be tried on you tonight.
She didn’t drive away, she wandered off, leaving her car.
“...A neighbor called police and tried to help Ms McBride who was apparently disorientated and bleeding from her head.
But in her confused state she wandered off. At 1.40am a police cruiser was dispatched to the scene, but Ms McBride was gone. She walked for a few blocks, before knocking on the shooter’s door. She was not shot until around 4am and it is not known what she had been doing for the two-and-a-half hours before her death....”
So she wandered around the neighborhood for a couple of hours.....or crawled into some bushes to sleep it off....or who knows what.
Ok
I’ll buy that.
