He is trying to draft a bill to "save" Obamacare.

No, he's helping to release millions from Obamacare's effects.

And if he doesn't do this, the White House will spearhead a move to expand subsidies to those who have lost their insurance.

Which means we would move closer to single payer. But I suppose many conservative wants single payer so we can "teach them a lesson". Or something.

Helping them by putting MORE regulations on insurance companies??

The burden of more regulations will make the effects WORSE.

Exactly, if we go head to head on repeal or nothing we're going to end up with nothing. And it's another nail in Obamacare's coffin because there's not going to be anyone on their rolls to pay for all the sick and poor who have signed up. Cost will be prohibitive.

This legislation will force Obama to expand subsidies to those on the exchange, because the costs of their plans will skyrocket if insurers can’t charge existing plan-holders more than they were before. This just puts Obamacare back on the debt-and-taxes funding model instead of on the insurance-premium funding model. Recent history has shown it’s extremely hard to get the public outraged about debt and taxes since few of them pay taxes anymore and they just don’t care about debt.

It will be far easier to repeal Obamacare in its current form than it would be if this modification is made. This legislation brings us one giant step closer to single-payer by giving Obama an excuse to expand government-funded health care.
