Well, they are substandard and cut-rate. If you aren't a wino or a druggie or a Sandra Fluke class slut.

“”Many exchange plans exclude the top-drawer academic hospitals like Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and New York Presbyterian in New York City. Instead, the law says exchange plans must cover care at ‘essential community providers ... that serve predominantly low-income, medically underserved individuals.’” That’s from the law itself. “That means clinics, public hospitals and hospitals largely serving the Medicaid community” is where the majority of exchange plans will work. “

That’s going to get very interesting. What about procedures that are only being done at first class hospitals? Well that’s a real cost saver.

You do not get the top-drawer hospitals and clinics. Those are reserved for people who will pay out of their pocket and will not have insurance.

Strangely, I find that reassuring. If these clinics only take cash payers, they will have to go back to real pricing, not the 300 to 400 percent markup and mark-down for insurers and government (where cash payers are stuck without the markdown). You will be able to get top quality medical care without being raped for not being in a "pricing club."

I disagree that the "poor" and "under" served populace is actually "underserved"....

medicaid and no insurance people visit the ER's at their whim...

have an earache?....go to the ER...a sore back?...go to an ER....get a Rx for hydros'....

ERs can not refuse service and the hospital has to admit you if deemed necessary....inability to pay is not a deterrent....

you,I, and our families....we don't run to the dr for every little thing....at least I don't....I detest going to the dr and won't due it except to get my two prescriptions renewed...

I hope it becomes the worst economical disaster since the Stock Market crash of 1929, and absolutely devastates the Health Care Plans of every person in America who voted for Obama.

It’s a shame that the only people who will hear this are FReepers or people who listen to Rush. How can this message reach the majority of Americans when the major media markets will never run this story? There has go to be a way to get info like this out to the general population.

If members of the CBC and lefties like DiFi are peeling away from Obama, you know it’s worse than they’re letting on.

Let. Them. Burn.

The government workers will not have to worry about their government provided insurance being dropped. They are a protected class because they are government.

And the military was opted out in the bill, so they will not be affected by obammacare (basically they can be considered government workers).

And Landrieu, Feinstein, Hagan and all the other so-called "progressive" regressives simply don't understand the real problem though:

The problem is that the "fix" just involves more coercive intrusion on the rights of individuals, on intrusion into and distortion of the insurance marketplace, on the future quality and proliferation of health care providers, and the damaging impact that their own regressive and arrogant assumptions is having on real individual American citizens and their families.

Just who do the Clintons, the Obamas, the Landrieu's, the Feinsteins--no matter how good they believe their intentions are--believe they are? That great intellectual freedom fighter, Author of the Declaration of Independence, and former President may have, inadvertently, identified them in the following quotation:

"The mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately." —Thomas Jefferson

The federal school busing program moves to health care.

Sick people can no longer go to the hospital around the corner. They have to be bussed to the inner-city hospital across town!

The other shoe to drop in 2014 is when this same thing starts happening to people who get their health care at work. We're not talking about employer-provided coverage here yet. That shoe doesn't drop until next year.

It's gonna get worse... soon they'll outlaw 'special care' for elites... private pay will be against the law.

[. . .law says exchange plans must cover care at ‘essential community providers ... that serve predominantly low-income, medically underserved individuals.’” That's from the law itself. “That means clinics, public hospitals and hospitals largely serving the Medicaid community” is where the majority of exchange plans will work.]

This group of hospitals was able to out-lobby other providers. However the Affordable Care Act began as a first draft, the more powerful special interest lobbies distorted it in different ways with their own selfish demands. These groups included trial lawyers, unions, pharmaceutical makers, public hospitals and health insurers. When the bill was finally completed it was a Rube Goldberg contraption.
