Former President George W. Bush who has largely shunned media appearances in favor of a bit of post-presidency privacy is poised to appear as a guest next week on The Tonight Show.
The ex-commander-in-chief will sit down with host Jay Leno on Nov. 19.
ADVERTISEMENT The last time Bush was a guest on the NBC show was back in 2010 during a book tour. Bush spokesman Freddy Ford told the cable network the 43rd president wanted to swing by the Tonight Show set before Leno gives up the host chair next year, saying, President Bush is going to be in the area next week so he was happy to accept Jay Lenos invitation to drop by the show one last time.
Leno has been getting a lot of love these days from current and former White House residents. President Obama sat on his late-night couch back in August his sixth time. Michelle Obama also stopped by in 2012.

OK, as long as conservatives aren’t expecting a spirited defense of their cherished principles & beliefs.
Yes, you’re exactly right. That would be the only thing that would bring GWB out of his self-imposed silence and isolation.
4. Pimp Jeb for 2016.
4. Ted Cruz does not speak for all Republicans. lol
No one but the progressives will listen to him. He has no political power or political credibility left with the right. All spent... like he did as president. obama makes Bush look like a spendthrift but it is just the scale of economics. I do not think that America will embrace another Bush in my lifetime. Two has been more than our quota. I like Bush... don’t get me wrong... but what he did and how he did it allowed obama to exist.
Sorry Pete, I skipped over your comment.
GWB is a basically a punching bag for liberals. A ‘spirited defense’ is not something you’ll ever hear from him.
Sorry, Dubya. NO TO JEB!
No doubt he will be waving his mexican flag as he did in the parade he marched.
Miss me yet?
No worries. We all see it the same way:
“Stay out-da Bushes”.
I fully agree. GW was excellent on many issues—and horrible on so many. Enough Bushes though. We know what we get with them and it is just not enough.
4. Whining on FR.
He’s going to show disapproval for the government “shutdown” and take a shot at Ted Cruz. The Republican Establishment wants to destroy Cruz NOW!! Before he gets too much traction.
Praise Hitlery.
I have no desire at all to watch this and won’t.
Have to nullify the Cruz appearance.
He will try to discredit Senator Cruz.....perhaps in an offhand, supposedly kidding attempt, but hurtful regardless.
