(Reuters) - A new push to sign up Americans for insurance under President Barack Obama's healthcare law will begin in December, when the government's faulty enrollment website is expected to work better, an advocacy group leading the campaign said on Tuesday.
Technical problems with the HealthCare.Gov website since it opened October 1 has hindered enrollment and undercut momentum for organizations such as Enroll America, which has led efforts to explain benefits to consumers in 10 states, including Florida, Texas and Ohio.
The Obama administration is racing to fix the website by November 30 so that people who want benefits to start on January 1 can enroll in time under the 2010 Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
Enroll America has "heard the expectations that things will really be running smoothly by the end of November, so for our planning purposes, we do want to do that big push in early December," the non-profit group's president, Anne Filipic, told reporters on a conference call.
The Obama administration is due to report October enrollment totals this week, but has already said the early numbers will be very low due to the technical failures. ..
December 15 is the deadline to sign up for coverage effective January 1. The open enrollment period lasts until March 31.

Excellent! It gives the morons among us something to do over the gala, winter, snow, solstice, festival holidays.

A good guess would be that the 50,000 “sign ups” were the Navigators themselves.
At the current rate of 40,000 enrolled in about 6 weeks, it will take over 900 years for 330 million American to be signed up.
Baraq could pad his economic stats easy by hiring 500,000 clerks and going with a telephone and paper system as an alternative.
The census hired 635,000.

Internet entrepreneurs...that’s it!
I didn't think so.
Agreed. Why anyone would provide their personal information to the government website is beyond me. You’ll be exposing yourself to being scammed in a number of ways. As people finally figure that out, the number of people willing to sign up should plummet....except, of course, for signups by people with nothing to lose and plenty of subsidies to gain.
Fixed by Decemeber 1. Sure it will. And I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale. It’s lit with rainbow power at night and the traffic cops are all Unicorns that poop Skittles.
Actually, the Democrats better hope the website is never fixed, because if it is, even more working stiffs will find their premiums doubled, their out-of-pocket tripled, and their doctor and hospital networks reduced to almost zero. So you pay $16,500.00 before you get ANY medical paid for by the insurance company, and then you have to wait weeks to find out the doctor you’re allowed to see quit accepting new patients a year ago. You might think I’m exaggerating, but this is what’s really going to occur.
