Non-apology apology not helping matters.
Maybe a sign people are starting to get it. .
“Obama disapproval down 1 to 54%”
If I read the chart correctly, Obozo’s disapproval rate increased 1% from 53% to 54%.
I was happy last Thursday when Real Clear Politics AVERAGE dropped finally to -10 — Today it is at -11.
You have succeeded in thwarting the use of FreeRepublic as a reference site. I realize that using names like “Obamugabe” is popular with some here, but realize that our ability to locate this information at a later date is lost. A simple ‘title’ search for ‘Gallup’ and ‘Obama’ will fail. There is very little chance that someone in the future will use ‘Obamagube’ as a search term.
I realize that many of you think this is cute, but realize that it undermines FreeRepublic as a serious source of web information on a couple of levels.
Yes.
Everythng in brackets is comments. Obama is a keyword for this article / thread. If that does not get the search results needed then the search tools needs improving.
How do keyword searches for multiple terms work? I’ve tried comma, comma space, semi-colon, semi-colon space. All of my attempts coalesce the keywords into a run-on ‘obamagallup’ which finds two articles, neither of which is this one.
Perhaps the tools do need improved, at least better documented, but searching through titles is part of the tool set, as well. Do we throw in the towel on keeping that useful?
Furthermore, name-calling used to be considered sophomoric. Actually, I think sophomore is too high an acclamation. I haven’t come across people doing stuff like this since junior high school. Do we want visitors to assess FR based on this?
I wish I had the answer on effective searches. I have had mixed success with that.
On name-calling, I agree. In this case though I think it is directed at his behavior. It is much worse when Freepers engage in name calling or mockery based on things like race, or other physical characteristics.
I don’t think these things further the cause of conservatism.
